Mason Jar Carrier - FREE PATTERN

Mason jar carriers have been on my shop since 2017 and they have been a hit ever since. These mason jar carriers are perfect for you if you also are interested in using less single use plastic and switching to a reusable alternative.

Now without further ado, let's get on to the pattern!
Materials
3.00 mm hook
Weight 4 yarn
Scissors
Tapestry needle - optional
Stitches + Abbreviations
CH - Chain
SK - Skip
SS - Slip stitch
SC - Single crochet
DC - Double crochet
HDC - Half double crochet
Pattern Notes
This pattern can be altered to fit any size bottle by simply adjusting the rows in the base and the height portion of the carrier
For a quicker make, replace the HDCs with DC
This will change the stitch size so you may need to include less rows to get proper sizing
This project should take anywhere from 40 minutes to an hour to complete
Mason Jar Carrier Pattern
Mason Jar
Ch 3, SS to first chain to make a ring.
Round 1: CH 1, 10 HDC inside ring, connect with SS to CH 1. (10)
Round 2: CH 1, 2 HDC in each stitch around. Join with SS. (20)
Round 3: CH 1, *2 HDC in first stitch, 1 HDC in next* repeat around. Join with SS. (30)
Round 4: CH 1, *2HDC in first stitch, 1 HDC in next 2* repeat around. Join with SS (40)
Round 5: CH 1, HDC in the back loop of each stitch from the previous row. Join with SS. (40)
Round 6: CH 1, HDC in each stitch around. Join with SS. (40)
Round 7: CH 1 HDC in each stitch around,. Join with SS. (40)
Round 8: CH 3, SK 1, DC in next, *CH 1, SK 1, DC in next* repeat around. Join with SS to the CH 3. (40) - 20 DC including CH 3 and 20 CH 1 spaces
Round 9-14: Repeat rounds 6-8 two times.
Round 14: Ch 1, HDC in each stitch around. Join with SS. (40)
Round 15: Ch 1, HDC in each stitch around. Join with SS. (40)
Strap
Once you finish round 15, you will begin making the strap. You will start the strap where you ended round 15.
Row 1: CH 1, SC in next 6 stitches(6)
Row 2: CH 1, turn, SC in each stitch across (6)
Repeat round 2 until strap is:
7 inches long - for a handle
20 inches long - for a cross body strap
Once the strap is the desired length, flip the carrier inside out. Line up the strap so it is in the middle of the carrier. SS the strap to the carrier as evenly as possible on the opposite side from where the strap was started. Ensure it is even by measuring or counting stitches.
Weave in your ends and you are done!
